Anchor and Mooring Chains

Chain used for anchoring or station-keeping must combine strength, toughness, wear resistance and consistent geometry. We supply stud link and studless anchor chain, offshore mooring chain and compatible joining hardware for vessels, floating units and marine structures.

  • Ship anchor chain for commercial vessels, workboats and marine equipment.

  • Stud link chain where dimensional stability and resistance to deformation are important.
  • Studless anchor chain for selected mooring layouts where lower weight and greater flexibility are preferred.
  • Offshore mooring grades and accessories for temporary or permanent systems, subject to the project specification and approval scope.
  • Kenter-type joining links, anchor shackles, swivels and connecting components matched to the chain system.

The right steel wire rope depends on how it bends, spools, rotates and works in the actual reeving system, not only on minimum breaking load. We supply marine, crane and general-purpose steel wire ropes in constructions selected for fatigue resistance, abrasion, crush resistance, rotational stability and corrosion protection.

  • Main and auxiliary hoist ropes for shipboard, deck and offshore cranes.
  • Luffing, boom pendant and winch ropes.
  • Towing, positioning and selected mooring lines.
  • Drilling, riser-tensioner and other offshore duty where the specification calls for a dedicated rope construction.

Available options include fibre or steel cores, compacted or conventional strands, galvanized wire, zinc-aluminium coating where applicable, plastic-impregnated constructions, marine lubricants, preformed lengths and fitted end terminations. Final selection should be checked against drum and sheave dimensions, fleet angle, line speed, load spectrum and inspection regime.

Chain Slings and Offshore Lifting Assemblies

For deck lifts, container handling and equipment moves, the sling has to be treated as one assembly. Chain grade, leg length, sling angle, master link, connectors and hook all affect the rated capacity and how the sling behaves under motion.

We supply standard and custom single-, two-, three- and four-leg chain slings, master links, shortening components, safety hooks and connecting links. Offshore container lifting-set options can be quoted where the chain, master links, shackles, design temperature, testing and certification scope meet the applicable project standard. Working load limits must be confirmed for the full assembly and the actual sling angle.

Shackles, Connectors and Wire Rope Terminations

Small components carry the full load, so compatibility matters. We supply bow and dee shackles, bolt-type and screw-pin designs, swivels, master links, wire rope thimbles, wire rope clips and selected sockets or terminals. Options include hot-dip galvanized finishes, high-strength grades, batch traceability and class-related documentation for eligible items.

Choose hardware by working load limit, pin diameter, bow clearance, loading direction, temperature, finish and the rope or chain it connects. For subsea or long-term mooring work, confirm whether the item is intended for lifting, towing, anchoring or permanent load; these are not interchangeable duties.

Blocks, Turnbuckles and Stainless Rigging

Marine snatch blocks, sheave blocks and rigging blocks help redirect or multiply line pull in deck handling, towing support and winch systems. Turnbuckles and rigging screws provide controlled tensioning for stays, lashings and structural connections.

Stainless steel shackles, thimbles, turnbuckles and clips are useful where corrosion resistance and appearance matter, provided the grade and working load are suitable for the duty.

Corrosion Protection That Fits the Service

There is no single “marine finish.” Equipment on an indoor winch, an exposed deck, in the splash zone and permanently submerged faces different corrosion, wear and inspection conditions. We match the protection method to the location, required life and maintenance plan.

  • Coated steel — Hot-dip galvanized hardware and galvanized or zinc-alloy coated wire for exposed marine service.
  • Rope protection — Marine lubricants, internal lubrication and plastic-impregnated or filled constructions where the rope design allows.
  • Stainless options — Stainless steel rigging for selected deck, architectural and light-duty applications where compatibility and load rating are confirmed.
  • Project coatings — Painted, plated or other specified systems available on selected chains and forged components.
  • Maintenance access — Finishes do not replace inspection. Ropes, chains and fittings still need cleaning, lubrication where applicable, wear measurement and documented retirement criteria.

Corrosion-resistant does not mean corrosion-proof. Tell us whether the equipment will be stored, intermittently wet, exposed to salt spray, used in the splash zone or submerged. That detail often changes the right material and finish.

Class, Testing and Documentation Options

Class approval is specific to a product, manufacturer, standard, size or grade and certificate scope. It should never be treated as a general claim. For eligible products and projects, we can quote DNV, ABS, LR, BV, CCS or other society inspection and certification options, subject to technical review and agreement before production.

Possible project requirements include DNV-ST-E271 for offshore containers and lifting sets, DNV-OS-E302 for offshore mooring chain, DNV-OS-E304 for offshore mooring steel wire ropes, and relevant ISO, EN, ASME, API or customer specifications. The applicable route depends on the equipment and its intended use.

  • Batch and heat-number traceability.
  • Dimensional and visual inspection records.
  • Proof-load, break-load, impact or fatigue testing as required by the applicable specification.

Do you supply DNV-approved marine and offshore lifting equipment?

DNV approval applies to defined products and scopes, not to every item a manufacturer sells. DNV or other class-related options can be quoted for eligible chains, lifting-set components, wire ropes or hardware when the required standard and certificate type are confirmed at RFQ. We will state clearly what is approved, witnessed or certified for the order.

Depending on the product, options may include hot-dip galvanizing, galvanized or zinc-alloy coated wire, marine lubrication, plastic-impregnated rope constructions, stainless steel and specified paint or coating systems. The right choice depends on salt-spray exposure, splash-zone or submerged service, wear, temperature and inspection access.

Please send mooring chain type, nominal diameter, grade, total length, stud link or studless design, end links and accessories, finish, water depth or service description, test requirements, class society, certificate type, delivery point and schedule. A project specification or line drawing is ideal.

Yes. We can supply standard or custom assemblies with matched master links, shackles, hooks, thimbles and terminations. Capacity is confirmed for the complete assembly, including the number of legs, sling angle, load distribution and applicable design factor.

Start with the crane maker’s rope specification, then confirm rope diameter, construction, minimum breaking load, core, lay, reeving, drum and sheave sizes, fleet angle, line speed, operating depth, rotation requirements and corrosion exposure. Inspection and discard criteria should also be agreed before the rope enters service.

The package can include material certificates, conformity documents, proof or break test reports, dimensional checks, NDT records, traceability lists and third-party or class certificates where agreed and applicable. Document scope varies by product, so it should be written into the purchase specification.
