LEVER HOIST DRAWING
HSH-AL SPECIFICATIONS
Select the model based on the maximum anticipated load, required lift, available headroom, and operating effort. The test load is a verification value, not a permissible working load. The values below reflect the current HSH-AL specifications. Confirm the final model data in the approved technical datasheet or quotation before ordering.

WHY CHOOSE AN ALUMINUM-BODY LEVER HOIST?
An aluminum housing reduces the hoist’s self-weight compared with a comparable steel-bodied design, which can make frequent carrying, overhead attachment, and work in confined areas easier. In the current HSH-AL range, net weight starts at 2 kg for the 0.25-tonne model and reaches 6.3 kg for the 1.5-tonne model.
Lower self-weight does not alter rated-capacity requirements. Model selection must still be based on the total load to be lifted or pulled, the supporting structure, the attachment method, and the operating conditions. Aluminum construction alone must not be treated as approval for marine, chemical, explosive-atmosphere, or extreme-temperature service. These applications require written confirmation against approved product documentation.
If your project requires a different construction or a higher-capacity series, review the VA Series chain lever hoist rather than applying VA Series specifications to the HSH-AL.
KEY PRODUCT FEATURES
- Aluminum body for lower self-weight across the 0.25–1.5 tonne range.
- 160 mm lever length for operation where access is restricted.
- Single-fall load chain on the 0.25, 0.5, and 0.75 tonne models; a two-fall arrangement on the 1.5 tonne model.
- Effort required at rated capacity from 162 to 343 N, depending on model.
- Minimum hook-to-hook distance (H min.) from 220 to 320 mm.
- Manual operation with no external power supply.
Any claim concerning certification, permissible operating temperature, load-chain material, hook material, brake design, surface finish, or corrosion performance must match the approved HSH-AL technical file and order documentation.
HOW TO SELECT THE RIGHT HSH-AL MODEL
Rated Capacity
Select a rated capacity equal to or greater than the maximum total load to be handled. Include lifting attachments and below-the-hook equipment in that total. Never use the test-load value as the permissible working load.
Lift and Load Chain Arrangement
The 0.25- and 0.5-tonne models have a 1 m standard lift, while the 0.75- and 1.5-tonne models have a 1.5 m standard lift. If a different lift is required, state it in the inquiry so the required load-chain length, net weight, and packaging can be confirmed.
Headroom and Access
Compare H min., body width, and lever clearance with the actual workspace. Even a compact hoist requires enough clearance for the lever to move through a controlled operating arc without contacting nearby structures.
Operating Effort
Operating effort increases across the listed models as rated capacity increases. Use the rated-load effort shown in the table to assess whether the operator can maintain stable, controlled operation for the planned task. Do not extend the lever or subject the hoist to shock loading.
APPLICATIONS AND OPERATING BOUNDARIES
The HSH-AL series may be suitable for equipment positioning, workshop maintenance, machinery installation, construction work, and other tasks where a compact manual lever hoist is preferred. The hoist must be attached to a support point of adequate rated capacity, and the load must be connected using compatible, properly rated lifting or rigging components.
- Do not exceed the hoist’s rated capacity.
- Do not use the hoist to lift or support people.
- Do not operate the hoist with a twisted, kinked, damaged, or incorrectly seated load chain.
- Do not subject the hoist to shock loading or use a lever extension.
- Keep personnel clear of suspended loads.
- Operate the product only within the instructions and limitations stated in the approved manufacturer’s documentation.
If you are choosing between a hand chain block for vertical lifting and a lever hoist for compact manual operation, see the practical lever hoist vs chain block comparison.
INSPECTION AND CARE
Before each use, inspect the body, lever, selector mechanism, hooks, latches, load chain, fasteners, and identification markings for visible damage, distortion, wear, corrosion, or missing parts. Confirm that the load chain is correctly seated, then check movement and brake response while keeping personnel clear of the load path. Remove the hoist from service if any abnormal operation or damage is found.
For operating procedures and safety limitations, follow the dedicated guide on how to use a lever chain hoist. Use the lever hoist inspection checklist for detailed inspection points and records. These resources do not replace the product manual, site-specific risk assessment, lift plan, or inspection by a competent person.

FAQ
What Capacities Are Available in the HSH-AL Series?
The current range lists rated capacities of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1.5 tonnes. Select the model based on the maximum total load to be handled, not the test load.
Is the HSH-AL a Manual Lever Hoist?
Yes. It is a manually operated, lever-actuated chain hoist. The operator cycles the lever to move the load chain and control the load. No electrical or pneumatic power source is required.
What Is the Standard Lift?
The 0.25- and 0.5-tonne models list a 1 m standard lift; the 0.75- and 1.5-tonne models list a 1.5 m standard lift. Request written confirmation if a different lift is required.
Does an Aluminum Body Increase the Rated Capacity?
No. The aluminum housing affects product construction and self-weight, but the allowable load remains the rated capacity marked for the specific model.
Can the Lever Be Extended to Reduce Operating Effort?
No. Do not fit a pipe or any other extension to the lever. Select a suitable hoist and follow the manufacturer’s operating instructions.
